Unnoticed

Have you ever really looked down and looked at what is going on??

For a rather long time i became enamored by the works of Slinkachu (www.slinkachu.com). He is the artist that produced the book Little People in the City, and has held many successful exhibition throughout Europe. His work is based around the placement of static emotionless figures. This placement breathes an entire background of emotion to the object.

I wanted to see if i could take this idea and approach it from a photographic point of view. After testing a few shots i decided to attempt crossing macro photography with some of the principles of landscape photography.

I then wanted to simply dictate tiny people getting on with there lives, and the hurdles they come across due to there inferior size.

I exhibited these works within the Tiny Gallery of the Made in the Shade Maisonette. Each piece was printed to a size of 1 inch, then framed. I constructed a platform for all the pieces to be hung, and then let a few little people attend the exhibition.

For a human it was a little more difficult. It was only one in at a time, and magnifying glasses all round!
